Buildings and greenery
The University of Pavia has a large building stock (over 250,000 square meters of built surface) and green spaces (more than 200’000 square meters), some of which are also relevant for the city, like the Botanical Garden.
It is a heterogeneous heritage: the buildings in the city center are of medieval origin and house the humanities faculties; those in the Physics and Chemistry Institutes area were built between the 1930s and the 1980s; and the Polo Cravino whose construction dates back to the early nineties.
Management and maintenance activities are carried out periodically to ensure quality spaces for the entire academic community where to study, teach, do research and work; furthermore, for some years, the University of Pavia has been moving towards more and more energy-saving interventions, the exploitation of renewable sources and the security of its building stock.
This section presents the programs and projects of greatest interest for the topic of Buildings and Greenery sustainability of the University of Pavia.
