Mobility
The system of mobility is one of the cornerstones of the attractiveness and competitiveness of urban areas. The ability to efficiently manage and organize exchange flows with the outside and internal mobility in fact guarantee vitality and development opportunities for local systems, becoming one of the localization factors of both economic activities and people.
The University of Pavia moves around 25,000 people every day in a city of around 70,000 inhabitants. The university sites, including the colleges, are deeply part of the urban fabric, in a model of a Campus City which constitutes one of the distinctive features of the Pavia university system.
The sustainable mobility policies launched by the University to reduce the use of private vehicles between home and university cannot disregard this peculiarity and have always been based on a close synergistic relationship with the main territorial stakeholders (Municipality, Hospitals , Public Transport Agency).
